West Bend Theatre Company is proud to announce the cast for our most popular and annual production, “A Christmas Carol.”

Each year for the last decade, the West Bend Theatre Company has performed the Charles Dickens legendary story “A Christmas Carol.” It has become an annual part of West Bend’s and Washington County’s kickoff to the holiday season.

“We’re excited to bring back ‘A Christmas Carol’ in 2021 after having to cancel it last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Nicholas Dettmann, president of the West Bend Theatre Company’s board of directors. “It was so disappointing we couldn’t do it last year and we know it was missed as part of the annual celebration of the holiday season.

“We’ve got a great cast, led by a talented director, who has promised a few new wrinkles in this year’s production that you won’t want to miss.”

Leading the cast will be theatre veteran Don Pountain as he will be director and play the role of Scrooge, a role he has played before with the West Bend Theatre Company.

Pountain has performed in more than 100 productions throughout his life. Among shows he’s done previously with the West Bend Theatre Company are “South Pacific” and “A Christmas Carol.” This October, he co-stars in the role of stage manager for the West Bend Theatre Company’s production of “Our Town,” which opens Oct. 8.

“Don’s talent and experience is unmatchable for this area,” Dettmann said. “We’re excited he decided to take on the role of directing ‘A Christmas Carol.’”

The cast features some new faces to the West Bend Theatre Company, as well as some returning faces, including some performing this month in “Our Town.”
