Auditions will be January 9, 10 for Calendar Girls. The show offers roles for 9 women and 4 men, ages 20-60++. Based on a true story that took place in Yorkshire, England, a group of women create a fabulous "almost nude" calendar to raise funds for charity and are overwhelmed by the success. Those auditioning should understand that costuming will be revealing, but with tricks of stage lighting and effective staging, NO NUDITY is involved.
The group does plan to create its own calendar featuring the actors in the show, along with community leaders who support the performing arts.
West Bend Theatre Company is hosting January auditions to facilitate photography and marketing. Actors will receive scripts shortly after auditions, but will only begin in-depth rehearsals starting March 6th. A full cast read-through is planned for February 7th.
